For everyone who has seen Ben Seewald in glasses, things are going to change as he is ready to say goodbye to them forever. In the latest episode (August 18), Ben revealed that he was finally undergoing eye surgery to get rid of his glasses. For a long time, he had been thinking about the surgery but feared that things could go wrong.

However, his opinion changed when he found out that one of his friends underwent the same surgery, and the results were positive. Ben further revealed that he had worn glasses since he was seven. Meanwhile, when he was dating Jessa, he wore contacts. Unfortunately, he had to shift to glasses as the contacts were irritating his eyes. Jessa admitted that it would be a hard time getting adjusted to seeing him without glasses as the family was used to seeing him with them. As the two reached the hospital, Jessa wondered what were the chances of the surgery not working. She revealed that there had been cases where the surgery does not make a lot of difference.

At the same time, she was worried about something going wrong. Thinking about all the possibilities, Jessa finally decided to wait until the surgery was over to see how things turn out. Meanwhile, Ben said that he felt a sense of nervousness taking over him. As the time for the surgery came closer, he wondered if he was making the right decision. He became more worried went the doctors put a numbing drop in his eyes. Speaking to the camera, Ben wondered if he should head back home and not undergo the surgery. However, he managed to calm himself down and take the big step.

Luckily for him, he had the perfect set of doctors who decided to entertain him while the procedure was going on. Ben was able to understand each step as the doctor guided him about what was happening. He admitted that listening to what was happening helped him keep calm throughout the procedure.

Before he knew it, the procedure was done and the doctors gave him the good news that it was a success. As soon as Ben opened his eyes, he felt good about seeing things without wearing his glasses. The doctors told him that he would notice his eyes water on the first day but after a good night's sleep, things would be better.

As expected, Ben was thrilled to have his eyesight back and not use his glasses to see.

'Counting On' airs on Tuesdays at 9 pm ET on TLC.
