LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: ‘The Flash’ isn’t just one of the most anticipated movies of this month, but the entire year. Of course, Ezra Miller, who plays the role of Barry Allen, aka Flash, has been at the center of several controversies, all of which have tarnished his reputation. Nevertheless, he continues being an important part of ‘The Flash’ movie, along with several other cast members, who are joining him.

Keeping in mind the controversies, ‘The Flash’ continues to be anticipated by the fans and the reasons go beyond Miller. This upcoming movie is inspired by one of the biggest game-changer comics in DC, ‘Flashpoint'. ‘The Flash’ will open doors for this franchise like never before, and could be one of the biggest installments of DCEU so far.

Why is ‘The Flash’ so groundbreaking?

As aforementioned, ‘The Flash’ movie is based on the ‘Flashpoint’ comic series, which has welcomed a lot of interesting characters. For starters, Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck are both reprising their roles as Batman in this movie, which frankly can be reason enough for ‘The Flash’ to become the biggest undertaking by DC so far. In addition to Keaton and Affleck, Michael Shannon is making an appearance as General Zod. Jeremy Irons will also be reprising his role as the beloved character, Alfred Pennyworth. These big revelations have been made up until the final trailer, which means ‘The Flash’ has a few tricks up its sleeve. This is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the upcoming superhero flick.

The multiverse

Barry Allen is going to be stuck in the concept of the multiverse, which serves as a game changer for DCEU. When the multiverse was introduced in the MCU, things didn’t go entirely as planned, despite the good box-office numbers. Now it is DC’s turn to toy with this concept, and open doors for future films. It shouldn’t be too much of a task, given James Gunn has taken over the reins and has some great plans for the franchise.

As for ‘The Flash’ if the concept of the multiverse is handled well, it could lead this movie to the top of the box office in 2023. Frankly, DC could use a win after the unsuccessful attempts of ‘Black Adam’ and ‘Shazam! Fury of the Gods.’ The upcoming Miller movie is DC’s chance to reset the timeline and start anew, which means there is truly a lot riding on this particular movie, making it one of the biggest, if not the biggest (just yet).

You can watch ‘The Flash’ on June 16, 2023, in theatres near you.
