Comic-Con 2020: 'The Walking Dead' Season 10 finale date announced, here's when we'll see Beta wage war

Battles have been won and lost and now everything boils down to the bloody Whisperer war that promises more deaths and more heartbreaks for the TWD fans. Who will survive this and whose journey ends here? The teasers and promos just see everyone preparing for battle and there's a lot of focus on Father Gabriel, which makes us think that the show might follow his gruesome comic book storyline. Or maybe, he might die to save Judith (Cailey Fleming).

A lot went down in Season 10 of 'The Walking Dead'. We had to bid goodbye to Siddiq, Mary and Michonne (Danai Gurira) though that was still a better farewell compared to others). Alpha's (Samantha Morton) head was cut off and put on a stick — something that pushed Beta (Ryan Hurst) off the track completely. In the last episode, before the lengthy hiatus, apart from Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) revealing his rare human side, we saw Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) and the team pitted against Beta and his Whisperers with a horde of walkers in tow.

'The Tower' paved the way for the pall of gloom that is yet to come, by teasing a massive showdown on the cards between the survivors and Beta's army. The war against Beta will end here, and we will see new storylines emerging in Season 11. Lauren Cohan, who plays the role of Maggie Rhee, is returning to the show. For all we know, she'll come and save them from Beta and his army of the dead in the finale, with all the knowledge and weapons she has acquired since we last saw her.  There's much speculation that Season 11 will be all about the Commonwealth.

Fans have been waiting on tenterhooks since April for more news about the finale, which has been rather scant, due to the pandemic.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, we're going to have to wait a while to get answers to our questions. But here's some good news from the apocalyptic world of doom, 'The Walking Dead' showrunners just announced the release for the finale of Season 10 at 'The Walking Dead' Comic-Con Panel. It will air on October 4, 9 pm ET.
