Who is Kennedy Rae Thompson?
Based out of Virginia, Kennedy Thompson is a bubbly 11-year old jazz dancer who participates competitively as well. She is represented by Clear Talent Group, a popular talent agency representing actors, models, dancers, choreographers, directors, designers, and influencers.
From her dad Justin's Instagram account, it seems like Kennedy's dance journey began when she was 3 or 4 years old. Here's an adorable picture of her in 2014, with Justin having captioned it, "My little ballerina". Considering she only joined junior kindergarten the following year, it sure looks like this tiny dancer's first core memories are of ballet.
Justin, a public information officer by profession, will dance to his princess's tunes on the show. Here's a lovely click of the daddy-daughter duo as Justin states how proud he is of Kennedy making it to the Tremaine Dance Conventions in July 2021.
Kennedy's jazz solo to ‘Woman’, choreographed by her mentor Emily Brown, placed first in said category. The same solo also won her Junior Miss Dreammaker, while her jazz lyrical solo to 'Je Suis Malade', choreographed by dance instructor Gloria Hampton, won first in that category, besides bagging the overall first in Junior Advanced solos.
Here's a short clip from her winning performance.
One of her favorite things to do is combine dance and storytelling. At the Imagine National Dance Challenge, Kennedy performed Snow White in a narrative dance sequence.
She also bagged the Five Star Elite across the board for every dance she was a part of, in addition to her two solo performances. She received the 3rd place overall, out of almost 100 solos in the Junior division.
Kennedy also had the opportunity to work with Ally, a published Northern Virginia Photographer, on a project that showcased dancers.
For obvious reasons, the vivacious little woman has also landed some commercials, including one for Old Navy.
Besides Justin and Kennedy, the family consists of her mother Dana, and her big brother Zion, who is in the army. The family of four is excited for this new journey in the daddy-daughter duo's life, as are we.
'Come Dance With Me' premieres on Friday, April 15, at 8/7c, on CBS. The program will also stream live and on-demand on Paramount+.
