Who is Philip Lawrence?
The songwriter first had his name put on the map when way back in 2010; this is when he received 5 nominations at the 2010 Grammy Awards. His first nomination was that of Producer of the Year, Non-Classical.
Further, Lawrence has composed, produced, and experimented with tunes in a variety of music genres throughout his career. Some of these include Pop, Rock, Hip-Hop, R&B, Reggae, Funk, Soul, and Folk. Today, he credits his vast knowledge and abilities in creating music to being raised in a musical home.
From 2010 to 2012, Lawrence was nominated for 10 Grammys, winning his first award in 2013 with Bruno Mars for Best Pop Vocal Album. The same year, he released his own solo album called 'Letters I Never Sent'.
In addition to his many accolades, Lawrence even appeared in the animated film 'Rio 2' as the character and voice of Felipe. What's more, he wrote, performed, and produced the song called 'It's a Jungle Out Here', and also co-wrote 'Welcome Back', for the soundtrack of the film.
If the list seems neverending to his accomplishments, it's because it actually is! Lawrence is the founder of CMNTY Culture, a multimedia strategy that amalgamates recorded music, film, television, and theatre production, all in one space.
It sure looks like Lawrence knows a thing or two about music, and what's dance without its master?
'Come Dance With Me' premieres on Friday, April 15, at 8/7c, on CBS. The program will also stream live and on-demand on Paramount+.
