Who is Collin Gosselin? Jon Gosselin's son claims dad kicked and punched him, mom Kate says 'enough is enough'
The Gosselin family, that had become famous through their TLC show 'Jon & Kate Plus 8' have come under scrutiny after 16-year-old Collin Gosselin accused his father Jon Gosselin of punching him in the face. Kate and Jon who have been divorced for over a decade share eight children together, one of whom has accused Jon of physical abuse.
The Gosselin family has come under the scanner once again with fresh twists and allegations even after 10 years following Jon and Kate's tumultuous divorce. TV host Jon's son, Collin, has now accused his father of punching and kicking him, leading to a child abuse investigation being launched.
It has been reported that the County of Berks, Pennsylvania Child & Youth Services, had contacted Collin's mother, Kate Gosselin, after they decided to open an investigation into an alleged violent incident that had taken place between Jon and Collin, according to a People report.
A CYS report revealed that the allegations include "causing bodily injury to a child through recent act/failure to act: hitting/punching." However, the report has not named Jon as the alleged perpetrator of abuse but the allegation seems consistent with Collin's accusation just last week on a now-deleted Instagram post where he said his father "beat" him.
The couple, Jon and Kate, had got divorced back in 2009 after being married for 10 years. They have eight children, including 19-year-old twin daughters Cara and Madelyn and 16-year-old sextuplets Alexis, Aaden, Joel, Leah, Hannah and Collin.
Kate told People, "You do not punch and kick your children. You do not kick a child. I don’t want to hear any excuses from anyone, not from his father, not from local law enforcement, not from court personnel whose job is supposedly to ensure the best interests of my children."
"There is a child abuse law, PA 23, section 8i states that doing any of the following, regardless of whether it causes injury, is child abuse, and first on that list is kicking. Period. I don’t want my children around him. Enough is enough," she added.
Collin, who has since deleted his post, had written, "My dad is a liar. Yesterday he beat me up and thought nothing of it, he punched me in the face and gave me a swollen nose and I started bleeding. He then continued to kick me in the ribs after I was on the floor. He is a liar."
An insider had revealed that Collin had become upset while talking to his father in the car. "Collin got furious and was screaming and swearing. When they got home, he was still screaming and cursing and he went into the garage and got ... a big heavy bottle of liquid — and hurled it at Jon’s car, denting it."
"Jon got out of the car enraged, put him in a headlock, punched him square in the nose, and when Collin fell to the ground, then he kicked him in the ribs," the insider shared. Even though CYS is looking into the matter, it is unlikely that Jon will face any legal repercussions.
Berks County District Attorney John Adams said, "There has been no charges or citations filed as a result of that incident. That’s the only incident we are aware of at this point and there was no citation or charges filed as a result of the incident."
Many social media users blamed both parents in the comments. One user had written, "Child services is not for custody battles and should not be called because of how the parents can’t communicate." Another added, "That would be to bad if this is true that Jon abused his son. These kids have been through so much between their weird parents..God help this child..."
