QUEENS, BOROUGHS OF NEW YORK CITY: Colin McNally, a New York teacher has been charged with endangering a child after he was seen slamming a 14-year-old boy into the wall and then tackling him to the ground outside the gym at Cardozo High School in Queens. McNally was arrested and charged with harassment and endangering the welfare of a child.

In the video, the PE teacher is seen rocking the 14-year-old after a dramatic confrontation that took place on Wednesday, February 16, when the kid was walking out of the gym with a basketball, which McNally seized. The teen tried to get the basketball back when McNally grabbed him by his shirt and shoved him against the wall. The teacher continued to tackle the kid after he hurled him to the ground while other students and staff members looked on in shock. McNally once again dragged the boy up from the ground only to thrust him against the wall.

Caroline Lee: Woman arrested for SLAPPING student days after being named 'teacher of the year'

Jennifer Wells-Jackson: New Haven teacher arrested for pulling 12-year-old girl's hair

A spokesperson for the DOE said, “These are incredibly disturbing allegations, and Mr. McNally was immediately removed from the classroom away from students, pending the outcome of the investigation.” Cardozo High School confirmed the boy was not hurt, and that the teacher was arrested.

The news comes a few months after a Florida-based educator Caroline Melanie Lee was charged and arrested for abusing a student, two days after being honored as the 'teacher of the year'. Lee was a teacher at Darnell-Cookman Middle/High School in Duval County where she was arrested and charged with hitting a student in the face several times.

The 60-year-old has denied striking the child saying she called the student into her classroom to discuss an Instagram post that the teacher felt was threatening. But surveillance camera footage revealed a different story as the student who got a nose bleed was seen leaving Lee's classroom holding her face. The student straightaway made her way to the guidance office from the class to report she was struck.

The troubling allegations against Caroline don't end at physically attacking the child. The student's woes - who is a minor and hence not named - started after the Duval County Public Schools Instagram account posted a photo of Lee congratulating her for being named Teacher of the Year. A scroll down the comment section of the post revealed several comments asking if she's the same teacher who used the 'N-word' in class along with other microaggressions committed against students the police report said. The post and comments have since been deleted from the page.
