Country singer Coffey Anderson and his wife Criscilla have had a rough year ever since Criscilla was diagnosed with colon cancer last year.

The couple was told by doctors last week that "it’s treatable, but not curable". They were also told that the cancer was stage 4. While doing an interview with People, 39-year-old Criscilla shared, "He never lets me see it" about her husband's emotional reaction to her current health. "He just tries to keep smiling," she shared.

The pair had first met at church through mutual friends and had started dating in 2008. They fell in love and were married within a year. However, neither was prepared for the long and difficult battle that life was about to throw at them. The 40-year-old Anderson shared, "When you say that you will be there for each other through thick and thin and through sickness and health, you have to mean it".

"There are a lot of moments that you can never prepare for. I mean, I never thought I would be helping Criscilla brush her teeth or get to the bathroom in the middle of the night. But we are willing to do it for each other. Each of us are giving 100 percent," he continued. It was in May 2018 when Criscilla started to experience excruciating pain in her stomach that would leave her doubled over.

"As a mom, you always feel like you don’t have the time to deal with things like this. But there came a point when I couldn’t ignore it anymore," she shared. Speaking of the current state of her cancer, she added, "The cancer has spread throughout my para-aortic region and has begun growing up my back".

"My ultimate goal is to be in remission and have it not be chronic but be in a situation where it can be completely healed. The ideal, if that cannot happen, would be to keep it maintained and have it not spread any further for the rest of my life," she continued.

The couple has three children together -- Ethan, 8, Emmarie, 6, and Everleigh, 2.
