LINCOLN CITY, CANADA: Director Jeff Chan returns with 'Code 8: Part II', a highly anticipated sequel to the 2019 sci-fi film.

With Connor Reed (Robbie Amell) released from prison and striving to get his life back on track, fate entwines his path with troubled teen Pavani Gilani (Sirena Gulamgaus), and he finds himself on a mission for survival and justice.

In the sequel, now available on Netflix, viewers are reintroduced to the gritty urban landscape of Lincoln City, where a small percentage of the population possesses abnormal abilities.

In this dystopian setting, these individuals find themselves marginalized, resorting to criminal activities, and constantly under surveillance by law enforcement.

Despite the film's modest budget, director Jeff Chan skillfully delivers stunning visuals that breathe life into the super-powered action sequences. The film maintains the gritty authenticity and dynamic energy of the 2019 film while expanding upon its core concepts with greater nuance and depth.

A notable enhancement in the sequel is its emphasis on character-driven storytelling. Co-written by Chris Pare, Sherren Lee, Jesse LaVercombe, and director Jeff Chan, the script masterfully balances thrilling action with poignant moments of introspection while allowing the main stars, Stephen and Robbie Amell to shine in their respective roles.
