'Chucky': Release date, spoilers, plot, cast and all about the Syfy show on killer doll
The red-haired, freckled-faced doll possessed by the evil spirit of serial killer Charles Lee Ray is ready to wreak havoc once again. Fans of Chucky, the evil doll, will soon be able to watch the doll do what he does best- kill. Syfy is coming out with a series based on the evil doll that continuously tries to transfer his soul from the doll to a human body.
The series, entitled ‘Chucky’, will see the doll turning up at a suburban yard sale. However, an idyllic American town is thrown into chaos when a series of horrifying murders completely exposes the town’s secrets. The show will also tell the viewers about the origins of Charles and how he because one of the most notorious serial killers of all time.

The ‘Child’s Play’ film series has been really popular among those who love slasher movies. The original film, ‘Child’s Play’, spawned six sequels, a remake, comic books, and a video game. Most of the films in the series were successful at the box office and earned a good amount of money.
The series created a dedicated fanbase that’s ready to sign-up for any project involving the killer doll.

Release date and how to watch
The upcoming show will be premiering exclusively on Syfy and USA Network on October 12 at 10 pm EST. The SYFY App allows you to watch all of the available episodes of your favorite SYFY shows and movies, including new episodes the day after they air. On the other hand, Syfy programming can be viewed on other platforms including iTunes, Hulu, and Amazon Prime.
According to the official synopsis, here’s what fans can expect from the upcoming show: “After a vintage Chucky doll turns up at a suburban yard sale, an idyllic American town is thrown into chaos as a series of horrifying murders begin to expose the town's hypocrisies and secrets. Meanwhile, the arrival of enemies and allies from Chucky's past threatens to expose the truth behind the killings, as well as the demon doll's untold origins as a seemingly ordinary child who somehow became this notorious monster.”
The series will see Brad Dourif and Jennifer Tilly voicing the characters of Chucky and Tiffany. Both actors are no stranger to the series because they have worked together since ‘Bride of Chucky’ in 1998. Dourif is known for his iconic role in 'One Flew Over Cuckoo's Nest', for which he won the Golden Globe in the Best Supporting Actor category and was nominated for an Oscar as well.
On the other hand, Tilly is also an Oscar-nominated actress known for his bold roles in movies like 'Bound' and 'Bullets Over Broadway', for which she was nominated in the Best Supporting Actress category at the Academy Awards.
In addition, the show will feature four teenage leads played by Zackary Arthur, Teo Briones, Alyvia Alyn Lind, and Björgvin Arnarson. The series will also see Devon Sawa in one of the pivotal roles.
The show’s first episode will be helmed by Don Mancini. Meanwhile, he is also writing the entire series. He previously directed three movies from the ‘Child’s Play’ franchise and served as a writer in all the movies that were a part of the original series.
Mancini, David Kirschner, Nick Antosca, Harley Peyton, and Alex Hedlund serve as executive producers on the show.
The official trailer of the TV series is filled with nostalgia and ardent fans of the evil doll will surely be excited about this. The clip shows a boy named Jake (Zackary Arthur) buying the doll from a roadside or backyard sale. However, as soon as the doll comes into his life, everything starts to go upside down. Wherever Arthur goes, death follows. But in reality, it's evil spirit of serial killer Charles Lee Ray who's going on a murder spree.
