Oscar-winning singer John Legend and his wife, global warming activist Chrissy Teigen, flew 500 miles on a private jet to have dinner for Valentine's Day.

The couple traveled to the French Laundry restaurant in Yountville, California, which is 500 miles away from their home. Teigen had taken to Instagram to document the date that featured the couple on their way to the restaurant in the luxury jet. During their date, Legend also took a picture of his wife looking stunning at the dinner table. He captioned the photograph, "My Valentine, I love this woman."

Fans and followers slammed their choice of transportation on Twitter. One fan shared, "These so-called activists that feel they have the right to lecture us on how to live, are no more than spoiled rich elitist hypocrites that need tell others what to do to make themselves feel important! Pathetic."

Another fan added, "Global warming lifestyle changes are for the peasants!" while a third fan chimed in, "It doesn't count for them as they are celebrities. It only counts for common folk."

"Hypocrisy at its finest," wrote another social media user. Very recently, Legend expressed his support for teenage climate change activist Greta Thunberg. He shared on Twitter, "Young activists are challenging us to confront the realities of the climate crisis. Join me as I stand with @amnestyusa and @GretaThunberg today as we strike for climate."

Back in 2015, Legend had taken to Twitter to warn his followers that "We CANNOT elect a president who isn’t serious about climate change." Legend and Teigen are among many elites in Hollywood who often use private air travel even though they speak out about the climate change "crisis".

Earlier in the day, Legend shared a picture of him and their daughter Luna making some heart-shaped pancakes for Teigen to celebrate Valentine's Day. He also shared a picture of the finished product along with the caption, "I tried @chrissyteigen, Happy Valentine's pancakes."
