The parents of murderer Chris Watts revealed that they still support their son but are living with the tragedy of losing their grandchildren "every day". The couple spoke out after they were unhappy with the portrayal of their family in the Netflix documentary 'American Murder: The Family Next Door'. The documentary, which they watched recently, looks into the gruesome murders of Watts' wife Shanann Watts and the pair's daughters – Bella, 4, and Celeste, 3, after their bodies were found at an oil plant closeby.

While speaking to The Sun, Watt's parents Ronnie and Cindy said that they will always love their killer son despite the terrible crimes that he has committed. They shared that Watts, 35, knows 'nothing' about the new program post reports which suggested that he is feeling "shame" over the documentary being aired. Cindy shared, "Chris doesn't know anything about the documentary, we told him nothing about it. People come up with all these narratives. None of it is true. I'm living it, and I have been living it every single day for two years."

"It's nothing he hasn't lived through, he saw it, they didn't even show all the conversations that Christopher had with his dad, they didn't show anything, there was so much left out. Ronnie and I watched it on Saturday night. I was shocked to see videos that I thought were private of Shanann and the kids, showing me on the slip and slide in the backyard," Cindy shared. "There are things that are private, everything doesn't have to be documented. I would have preferred those not to be in there, but they were, and there's nothing I can do about it," she added. Cindy continued, "There's not one day that goes by that I don't wake up with them on my mind, I go to sleep with them on my mind, I will never, ever get over this. It's something that stays with you."

At the time of the murders, Watts' wife Shanann had been 15 weeks pregnant. Watts had killed Shanann on August 13, 2018, in the couple's Colorado home after which he drove her body to a job site at the oil company he worked at. He disposed of Shanann's body and then killed his two young daughters. Watts' father, Ronnie added, "He has not been able to watch it [the documentary], he was never told about it or asked about it. It was about typical of what I thought it would be, I wasn't shocked by any of it really. They asked if we wanted to see it before it was released, which I declined to, [but] I wanted to see what the narrative was going to be." "He's taking it one day at a time, just like we are. We still love our son no matter what and we miss our grandbabies. We're trying to move forward but it's a very hard task," Ronnie revealed.

Watts pleaded guilty to five counts of murder in the first degree, three counts of tampering with a deceased human body, and one count of unlawful termination of a pregnancy.
