'He's a sociopath': Trump slammed for saying Biden wants to defund police as FOX's Chris Wallace proves him wrong
When Donald Trump sat down for an interview with FOX News anchor Chris Wallace, little did he expect that he would be caught lying on the national television.
On Friday, July 17, FOX News Sunday released a clip of Wallace's interview with the president. The brief clip shows the two men discussing the issue of a spike in violence across the country.
As soon as Trump heard the word violence, he immediately placed the blame on Democrats and claimed that the increasing violence rates are in the states and cities run by the Democrats. He then went on to thrash the Democrats and later claimed that it was because Joe Biden wanted to "defund" the police. In the clip, we can hear Trump saying, "It’s really because they want to defund the police, and Biden wants to defund the police."
Wallace immediately corrected Trump by pointing out that Biden's charter doesn't mention any such statement. Trump still continued insisting that the charter signed by Biden and Bernie Sanders talks about defunding the police. When Wallace refused to budge, Trump got one of his aides to bring him Biden's charter. The clip ended with Trump's request for charter, but Wallace revealed what happened after the charter was brought in, in a separate interview with fellow FOX News anchor, Bill Hemmer. In the interview, he revealed, "(it) led to a very interesting exchange, and he went through it and he found a lot of things that he objected to that Biden has agreed to, but couldn’t find any indication, because there isn’t any, that Joe Biden has sought to defund and abolish the police.”
After watching the FOX News Sunday clip, and Wallace's interview with Hemmer, the Internet was both livid and amused with how Trump got caught lying by a FOX News anchor. A user tweeted, "One thing pathological liars hate is being called out for pathologically lying. Kudos to Chris Wallace." Another user wrote, "Trump begins to melt down at the first hint Chris Wallace is going to call out his BS."

Following the release of the clip by FOX News Sunday, Trump tweeted, "Corrupt Joe Biden wants to defund our police. He may use different words, but when you look at his pact with Crazy Bernie, and other things, that’s what he wants to do. It would destroy America!" Trump doesn't seem to be backing down on his claims of Biden and Sanders attempting to defund the police.
Trump's tweet received some rather interesting responses from Internet users. A user commented, "Chris Wallace on Fox News handed you your a** today on this very issue. You got caught lying. Everyone saw it. IT WAS ON THE TV, YOU BLITHERING IDIOT!" Another user expressed, "Funny, I just saw Chris Wallace saying he doesn’t. Someone brought you the charter, and you couldn’t find it. You really are a sociopath. #TrumpIsALaughingStock #WorstPresidentInHistory."
