Chris Hemsworth to take 'some time off' movies after intense 'Avengers: Endgame' press tour
If you're a fan of 'Thor' actor Chris Hemsworth, you may be a tad bit disappointed to know that he will soon take a break after celebrating a great year at the box office. The 36-year-old actor starred in a couple of films this year, including 'Men in Black: International' and 'Avengers: Endgame'.
Shedding light on his intense three-week global press tour in the wake of the record-breaking success of the Avengers movie, the actor told the hosts of the Australian breakfast show 'Sunrise' that he needs some time off and will soon be heading off with his family to Byron Bay.
"I'm going to take some time off now - probably six to eight months - and just be at home," he said. "I had a real, sort of, come down off the back of that press tour for 'Avengers' and it was the most intense three weeks. I realized that for so long I'd been sort of looking to the future and chasing what next... and then it hit me that, well, this is it. The thing that I've worked for and dreamt of doing, and I've just got to enjoy this moment."
Now that the Marvel series is over and the fourth 'Thor' film has been announced, Chris wishes to live in the "moment" during his time off. The actor and his wife Elsa Pataky moved to Byron Bay in New South Wales, Australia five years ago after living in Los Angeles.
The pair have three children, a daughter born in May 2012, and twin sons born in March 2014. Pataky earlier confessed she wanted a "laid-back lifestyle." In a 2017 interview, she said, "In Byron we just feel like locals. People really respect us... and it's what I always dreamt of giving to my kids."
If the buzz is to be believed, the Hemsworths are also looking to shift into a "mega-mansion" in Broken Head, south of Byron Bay and the house is estimated to be approximately $20 million.
