The spin-off of popular science fiction comedy 'Men in Black' has been in the works since September 2017, and it now appears as though the filming has officially commenced. The film stars Chris Hemsworth, fresh-off 'Avengers: Infinity War,' alongside Tessa Thompson, who worked with the actor in 'Thor: Ragnarok'. The first pictures from the set are out on numerous social media outlets. The picture that caught the most attention, however, was one of Hemsworth, all suited up and jazzed out with MIB's signature get-up.

First reported by Just Jared, the actor can be seen sporting a standard white suit with a white dress shirt, black shades, black slacks, and a black tie, and appears to be carrying something in his right hand. The movie is said to predominantly take place in the United Kingdom.

The film, which will be the fourth in the franchise, will apparently feature a plot that will involve the famed agents attempting to handle the invasion of aliens on a global scale. However, further details on what it may entail are currently being kept tightly under wraps.

An official description reads: "A London-based team of Men in Black (MIB) secret agents become involved in a murder mystery that sends them traveling the globe."

Speaking of the film to Variety, Hemsworth said: "We're basically trying to put a lot of humor into it like the previous ones. These are obviously some big big shoes to fill, so we're working our butts off on it to make something pretty epic and fun.""They're trying to change up the locations, make it feel unique and different to the last ones as well. So I think you might even see some different countries, maybe. Some different cities than you've seen in the previous Men In Black movies," he added.

Besides Hemsworth and Thompson, 'Men in Black 4' — a definite title has not been determined as of yet — will also feature the likes of Liam Neeson (Schindler's List, Taken), Kumail Nanjiani (Silicon Valley, The Big Sick), Rafe Spall (Life of Pi, Jurassic World: The Fallen Kingdom), and Les Twins Laurent Nicolas and Larry Nicolas.

The first 'Men in Black' film premiered in 1997 and starred Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith as Agent K and Agent J, two members of a top-secret organization established to monitor alien activity on Earth and work to hide their existence from normal humans. It went on to gross over $589 million worldwide, receiving acclaim from critics, as well as audiences, and received three Academy Awards. It spawned a franchise that later saw the release of 'Men in Black II' and 'Men in Black 3,' both commercially successful in their own right, though nothing close to the first.

For this latest installment in the franchise, F Gary Gray, best known for directing 'The Fate of the Furious' and 'The Italian Job,' is attached to direct a script penned by duo Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, who also wrote for 'Iron Man' and 'Punisher: War Zone.' Steven Spielberg will be acting as an executive director for the project, with Walter Parkes and Laurie MacDonald serving as producers.

The movie is set to be released by Sony Pictures Entertainment on June 14, 2019.
