‘That Fox weather b*tch’: Chris Cuomo allegedly tried to discredit Janice Dean for slamming Andrew
Chris Cuomo was slammed after reportedly plotting to discredit Fox News meteorologist Janice Dean and calling her “that Fox weather bitch” in text messages after her stark criticism of New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo for moving COVID-19 patients to nursing homes.
Dean lost her parents-in-law to COVID in March and April last year during the peak of the pandemic. She subsequently became a vocal critic of the Cuomo administration and his controversial policy that allowed COVID-19 patients into nursing homes. "He needs to go to jail," she told Fox News earlier this year. Now, a source has claimed his brother, former CNN anchor Chris, texted with Andrew's staff about how to discredit Dean, the New York Post reported.

According to the source, Chris allegedly asked in a text to an Andrew Cuomo staffer about how he could go after “this Fox weather bitch……Any help painting her as a far-right crazy?” The Post said it was also believed he had calls with the governor's staff about how to hit back at Dean by focusing on her political leanings. However, Dean doesn't usually comment on politics being a meteorologist.
According to the report, Michael and Dolores Newman, the parents of Dean's husband Sean, died shortly after Cuomo's controversial policy was announced. Dean expressed her shock at his administration’s March 25 directive that nursing homes could not deny admission to someone solely because they had COVID-19. On April 7, the directive was expanded to cover assisted living facilities. As noted by The Post, there were several reports about how far the governor and his staff went to cover up the COVID death toll among nursing home residents in New York.
The Cuomo brothers were excoriated on social media following the latest allegations.
"Always were and always will be vomitous ghouls: Entitled, callous, and irretrievably stupid. We knew then and we sure as shit know now. @JaniceDean exposed them," fellow Fox pundit Dagen McDowell tweeted.
"Chris Cuomo tried to discredit Janice Dean for speaking out on brother's nursing home scandal. What a total POS!" conservative activist Susan St. James wrote.
"Disgusting. Cuomo brothers & Gov staff allegedly plotting to discredit @janicedean Chris Cuomo allegedly blasted Janice Dean as 'that Fox weather bitch'," former State Department spokesperson Heather Nauert added.
"Unreal. @JaniceDean was trying to get answers after she lost her in-laws," MSNBC producer Lauren Peikoff chimed in.

It's worth noting that Dean has worked at Fox News since 2004 and recounted the loss of her in-laws to hosts Tucker Carlson, Sean Hannity, Martha MacCallum, and Harris Faulkner among others. “We knew he was covering up the numbers and now we are getting more and more information and facts to prove this is true. And the fact that his top aide Melissa de Rosa was in on it to help cover up the numbers, to downplay them," Dean said of Cuomo on “Fox & Friends” in March 2021. “They have never apologized to the families, 15,000 that deserve an apology. The only thing the governor is going to be sorry about is that he got caught," she continued. “You know what — he needs to go to jail and all of those around him.” Dean also pointed out how his staffers altered the numbers of nursing home COVID-19 deaths shortly before the release of his book that portrayed him as a hero in the crisis. “Promoting that book and making money off of COVID and the deaths of our loved ones is disgusting, corrupt and it needs to be investigated," Dean added.
