Fire crews battle massive hay fire blaze at a dairy farm in Chino
Fire crews are currently fighting a massive hay fire that began on May 7 night at a dairy farm in Chino. The fire was reported to the authorities at around 8:30 p.m. ET in the 83000 block of Pine Avenue. Flames were seen shooting up high into the night sky for miles around the dairy farm as the firefighters desperately tried to bring the blaze under control. The firefighters have now launched an aggressive attack on the fire, which is now the second alarm fire that is calling out for even more resources.
Chino police have since closed Pine Avenue between West Preserve Loop and East Preserve Loop. It is still unclear if any structures have been threatened outside of the dairy farm. Workers were spotted using a forklift to try and save some of the hay. No injuries have been reported so far.
Several cows on the property were also spotted sitting a safe distance away from the blaze as firefighters continue to put it out. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
