Woman stabs boyfriend to death with scissors after he calls her too fat to eat ice cream
ZHUMADIAN, CHINA: A Chinese woman stabbed her boyfriend to death on the street after he told her that she was fat.
The man also did not let her buy ice-cream and told her that she was over-weight, a witness told Chinese media.
The altercation took place on Wednesday, August 14, in Zhumadian, in central China's Henan Province.
The woman, who was identified by the police by her surname Wang, has been arrested.
Wang was seen fighting with her boyfriend known as Zhang when she began to attack him with a pair of scissors.
The police released a statement on Weibo, China's Twitter equivalate, saying that the couple had been shopping at the time of the incident.
The police added Zhang died in hospital after doctors failed to revive him.
According to a Chinese news station, JSTV, the pair had been in a relationship for only 20 days.
A source told the TV station that the couple started to fight when Zhang stopped Wang from eating ice-cream and started to fat-shame her.
This sent Wang into a rage as she rushed into a nearby shop to buy a pair of scissors, the source revealed.
JSTV also released footage captured on the scene which showed Wang standing to a seriously injured Zhang post the attack.
The case is currently under investigation.
