After months of anticipation over Netflix's 'The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina,' the network has released its first look at Kiernan Shipka as Sabrina and it is nothing short of breathtaking.

The brand new series based on the comic of the same name has unveiled the first look at Kiernan Shipka's Sabrina the teenage witch. The network's official description of the coming-of-age story reads; "Tonally in the vein of 'Rosemary's Baby' and 'The Exorcist', this adaptation finds Sabrina wrestling to reconcile her dual nature — half-witch, half-mortal — while standing against the evil forces that threaten her, her family and the daylight world humans inhabit."

If the description is anything to go by, the balance between humans and mysterious, dark forces tilts as Sabrina tackles the challeges of being a teenage witch in the dark coming-of-age story that calls in horror, the occult, and witchcraft. Kiernan Shipka who takes over the role of Sabrina appears to give a Little Red Riding Hood vibe as she is pictured wearing a red overcoat in the middle of a forest.

Another picture was shared by The Hollywood Reporter which showed a scene from the dark baptism of Sabrina. These first images released are dark and spooky.

'Chilling Adventures' is a CW project just like 'Riverdale' and the series’ showrunner, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, wrote the script for 'Chilling Adventures' and executive-produces alongside CW kingpin Greg Berlanti. The upcoming show is said to be nothing like its '90s predecessor and has distanced itself from the possibility of a crossover with its Archie Comics counterpart 'Riverdale.'

Sabrina is an empowered young woman who is just beginning her dark education as a sorceress, even as she tries to maintain a normal life as a sophomore at Baxter High. However, the CW's Mark Pedowitz recently confirmed that there was "no connection" between the series "at all" and the showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa echoed Pedowitz insisting that the shows will have "their own identities and own set of rules".

The rest of the cast includes Miranda Otto, Lucy Davis, Ross Lynch, Michelle Gomez, Chance Perdomo, Jaz Sinclair, Richard Coyle, Tati Gabrielle, Adeline Rudolph, Abigail Cowen, Lachlan Watson, Bronson Pinchot and Gavin Leatherwood.

'The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina,' debuts on Netflix on October 26.
