Woman arrested after her dog attacks young girl

This incident comes just days after a woman was arrested after a young girl was attacked by a vicious dog. The 11-year-old girl was attacked at a residence just before 2pm on Saturday, April 1, when emergency personnel were dispatched to Erith in southeast London. She was promptly taken to the local hospital for tretment.

Following the incident, armed police were dispatched to the Byron Drive house, where they seized and removed the dog from the property. A woman was also detained at the scene on suspicion of hindering the police and of being in possession of a dog that was dangerously out of control. "We were called at 2.03pm on Saturday, April 1, to reports of an incident on Bryon Drive, Erith. We sent a number of resources to the scene, including an advanced paramedic, an incident response officer, and an ambulance crew. London's Air Ambulance was also dispatched to the scene," said a London Ambulance Service spokesperson, adding, "We treated a patient and took them as a priority to a major trauma center in south London escorted by a medic from the air ambulance."

Two-year-old sustains facial injuries after dog attack

In a similar incident, a two-year-old girl was hospitalized with serious injuries after being viciously attacked by her family’s large dog. Alara Rose was playing when their 77-lb South African Boerboel mauled her at the property on Camilla Avenue in Osborne, Adelaide. The toddler was taken to the Woman and Children's Hospital, with what the police described as "superficial face injuries.” Later, the dog was taken out of the house by community safety officers from the City of Port Adelaide Enfield Council.
