Season 9 of ‘Chicago Fire’ is slowly inching toward its conclusion and the makers have the big responsibility of connecting all the loose ends before the season finale airs in May. Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinner) is also facing a lot of problems on his end because of a new recruit. Jacob Mercer (Sasha Kuznetsov) has been trying hard to show herself as the ideal candidate for making it to the team, but she seems to be doing things in the wrong way. She burns her hand while trying to pick a hot wrench without gloves and ends up being in the hospital.

When will ‘Chicago Fire’ Season 9 Episode 13 air?
Before going into the specifics, we got to be the bearer of bad news for all the fans out there. The show will be taking another hiatus for one week before it returns to NBC with a new episode. According to TV Listings, Episode 13 of Season 9 won’t be returning for a new episode until Wednesday, May 5.
Interestingly, NBC has revealed that ‘Chicago Fire’ won’t be aired on April 28, which means, the network will not be airing any older episodes as well.
The episode will primarily focus on Stella Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo) trying to save two siblings from a dangerous mishap. Meanwhile, the department helps Joe Cruz (Joe Minoso) in getting ready for fatherhood. It looks like the upcoming episode will be high on emotions and viewers might need to have tissues around in case their emotions start to run high.
‘Chicago Fire’ Season 9 Episode 12 Spoilers
The episode sees Casey and Brett visiting a doctor. Casey gets himself checked while Brett waits outside for him to come out. Casey comes out of the room and tells Brett that he has to get an MRI. He is having mini seizures and they could turn into full-blown seizures. Brett tries to calm him and tells him not to panic before they have all the information.
Casey tells about his medical condition to Chief Wallace Boden (Eamonn Walker) and he says that he should take some rest. Chief Boden walks in and tells everyone that due to medical concerns, Captain Casey is going to take the next two shifts out. The alarm goes off, everyone leaves.
The team arrives at the scene and saves everyone from the raging fire. However, a woman is screaming for her daughter. Randall 'Mouch' McHolland (Christian Stolte) finds the little girl and comes out with her in his arms as the blast goes off. Luckily, both are safe. Blake Gallo (Alberto Rosende) and Darren Ritter (Daniel Kyri) tell everyone about Mouch’s save when they get back to the station and everyone, including Casey, congratulates him for the heroic safe.
Meanwhile, Casey has reached the clinic for his MRI, and to make him calm, Brett has prepared a playlist for him that he can listen to while he goes through the procedure. As soon as he comes out, he tells Brett how horrible the playlist was and they both laugh hysterically.
The episode ends with the doctor telling Brett about Casey’s headaches. He says that it is most likely from a concussion. While viewers were waiting for the perfect moment to end with a kiss, but that did not happen. They control themselves and head out to celebrate.
