Why is 'Chicago Fire' Season 9 Episode 10 not airing this week? Here's what to expect when NBC drama returns
Spoilers for 'Chicago Fire' Season 9
'Chicago Fire' last episode titled 'Double Read' but the next episode might take fans for a ride. After a short hiatus this week, the NBC drama will return with Season 9 Episode 10 Matthew Casey's (Jesse Spencer) life might be in trouble. In most cases Casey's storyline is always linked with a possible relationship with Sylvie Brett (Kara Killmer) - something fans have already gotten bored about. While we hope this new episode doesn't see Casey's death, it's not impossible. We say this because now, the plot around him is about his health. Episode 9 saw him have an accident and hurt his head quite badly. Even though he said he was fine, it doesn't really seem like it.
There is no official reason as to why the show is taking a week off but while we wait to see what Casey's future holds for him, we have to wonder what the next intense episode will bring.

According to Futon Critic, 'Chicago Fire' Season 9 Episode 10 titled 'One Crazy Shift' will air on March 31, 2021, at 9 pm EST on NBC.
What will 'One Crazy Shift' be about?
The official synopsis reads, "A series of suspicious fires sends 51 on a search for the cause. Casey continues down a troubling path. Mouch is looking to make his long-awaited dream come true." While the case seems to be an interesting one, we would assume that fans will be more focused on Casey's health. Back when the last episode aired, fans were very frustrated at the fact that Casey seems to be ignoring his symptoms.
"Casey so damn hardheaded just go get your head checked out #ChicagoFire," one fan had tweeted. Another added, "I think a multiple arc episodes about Matt head injuries was well thought. His past injuries needed 2B re-explore & thats gonna give Jesse a lots of acting work 2 sink his theet into. But on another side it suck 4 us cuz now we're gonna B freaking worried 4 him #ChicagoFire"

But maybe it'll all be okay? "The fact Jesse is still playing Casey in rescue calls on set says to me that the head injury isn’t going to last long. He can’t go two episodes with head injury without anybody noticing. Especially while on calls. #chicagofire," tweeted a fan. Another added, "Actually glad to see the writers revisit Casey’s blow to the head from season two. Some pay off for us fans who have been with the show all this time. Worried but interested to see how this progresses! @NBCOneChicago #ChicagoFire."
