Chael Sonnen dubs Joe Rogan and The Rock's recent encounter as 'awkward': 'Pretending to be happy'
AUSTIN, TEXAS: Joe Rogan's podcast, 'The Joe Rogan Experience' has featured a number of well-known celebrities this past month, and Dwayne Johnson, often known as "The Rock," was one of the most recent guests.
However, MMA star Chael Sonnen believes the nearly three-hour segment was rather awkward for both guys because of their rough pasts.
What did Chael Sonnen say?
The pro wrestler, Sonnen delved into the podcaster and the wrestler-turned-actor's difficult history and mocked them for not discussing their past jibes at each other during the long interview segment.
Rogan and The Rock did, however, cover a wide range of other subjects on episode #2063 of the JRE, from global politics to Johnson's early ambitions to compete in mixed martial arts.
'The Bad Guy' thinks the entire affair was a setup to fool the audience, even though both men were extremely polite throughout the segment.
In a recent video posted to his YouTube channel, Sonnen expressed his surprise that the two chose not to discuss their beef with each other on the podcast.
He remarked, "I told you how awkward it was to watch these two famous, successful rich men pretending to be happy for the other one's fame, success, and riches."
He went on to say, "When Joe Rogan was at his absolute lowest, and they tried to cancel him... 'The Rock' piled on...'The Rock' did not use the R-word, in all fairness. He did not call him a racist, but he called him a racist... and he tried to cancel him."
"And Joe took his little notes, right?.. He's given receipts, and he'll mention a comment here and there about 'The Rock' being on steroids... There are little receipts over time," he further added.
Joe Rogan joined The Rock for a 'banging workout'
Joe Rogan and The Rock, reportedly, engaged in a "banging workout" during the November 15 episode of 'The Joe Rogan Experience'.
After the 'Black Adam' actor appeared on his program and Rogan's fantastic workout with him, the podcaster described the encounter in effusive terms, saying, “That was a blast."
Johnson made a joke, saying, "Dude that was three hours.”
He went to on say, “You and me, we had a f**king banging workout. Then we did the sauna, we did the cold plunge, we did the whole experience."
He further added, “We did the sauna again. The cold plunge man… that was great. And I love what you’re doing down here by the way with the boys. Getting them down here, giving them the opportunity to get after it, not only their craft, but to get in shape.”
A little more about the workout was disclosed on Rogan's Instagram, where it was revealed that some of his friends, including comic Shane Gillis, had joined him.
"Had a f**king amazing time working out with @therock @shanemgillis @tonyhinchcliffe @duncantrussell @ehsanjahmad and @duncantrussell at the studio gym," the 56-year-old podcaster wrote as a description for the photo.
