HGTV's 'Celebrity IOU' is a hit and there no prizes for guessing why. Fans love to know more about their favorite celebrity and this renovation show gives them a sneak peek into the lives of the stars and a chance to know them better while also picking up a few design tips and tricks for their own homes. It's a win-win situation.

Each episode, 'Property Brothers' -- Drew and Jonathan Scott -- host celebrity guests who are looking at gifting their loved ones a new and improved home. Usually, it starts with the star giving the brothers a brief about his/ her relationship with the giftee and a low-down of what the spruced-up space should look like.

Even though timelapse montages make it seem like a cakewalk, it's a tough task to fit in all the design changes in a matter of weeks. But, Drew and Jonathan make it happen. Once the brothers have received the brief, they pitch in their ideas and how they could go about revamping the space.

Then comes the best part - the demo process, which includes a lot of smashing and breaking. A huge stress buster. Also, reveal day makes for an interesting highlight because it's sort of the first look at the renovated house, secondly, it's emotional and heartwarming to see the reactions.

In a nutshell, it's a complete show and has, so far, attracted 18.9 million total viewers and is currently at No 2 in the list of unscripted original series. That's quite a feat and the makers have already cashed in on the success. 'Celebrity IOU' will be getting a second season and there will be additional guests and more of demo processes and reveal days.

However, release date and plot haven't been discussed it but one can make guesses. 'Celebrity IOU' Season 2 could release around the same as this year, which makes the possible release date April 2021. However, there's been no word on it yet, let alone confirmation. Of course, the premise will remain the same because that's what fans dig about the show.

"Since its premiere on April 13, Celebrity IOU has delivered a strong, consistent weekly performance among all demos," said Jane Latman, president, HGTV and added: "This series continues to break records and it delights viewers with feel-good stories about fan-favorite celebs and the people who love and support them off-camera. We have to make more."

'Celebrity IOU' airs on HGTV every Monday and is produced by Scott Brothers Entertainment. So far, Brad Pitt, Melissa McCarthy, Viola Davis, and Michael Buble have starred in the show.
