'Celebrity IOU': Melissa McCarthy wants to Hulk the walls out of 'hideously ugly' kitchen, fans call her badass
'Celebrity IOU' has returned with a brand new episode and it features Melissa McCarthy. What more could one want? Home renovation with a dash of humor, there's nothing like it.
Melissa has joined forces with her cousin, Jenna, to gift her uncle Jim and aunt Connie a special space, where she can entertain her guests. Talking to design specialists-cum-hosts Drew and Jonathan Scott, Melissa said even though the kitchen area looked alright with the big windows, the old furniture, closed layout and dated tiling makes it very dark. The hosts agreed and joked that it was "hideously ugly".
The island is a huge blob of nothing in the kitchen and doesn't really serve a purpose except that Melissa's uncle gets to sit on it, do his crosswords and occasionally help Connie with whatever she is cooking. But Jenna (Connie & Jim's daughter) revealed how it's madness when too many guests arrive and all her mother can say is "get out".
In their confessional, Drew and Jonathan said that they'd like to focus on opening up space so that Jim and Connie's time together in the kitchen can be enhanced. "The fact that Jim, for 35 years, sits at the edge of the countertop of the kitchen just to be with Connie while she cooks - that's love," Drew said as they got told that there was a man cave that had to be spruced up as well and all of that in three weeks.
As the hosts recce the area, Melissa tells them to "hulk the walls out." And she did. The 'Spy' actress and cousin Jenna put in all of their strength to bring the walls down and fans are loving the energy on the show so much so that some even want her to be on each episode just so that she can demolish buildings. At one point in the show, she almost pulled off the kitchen sink along with the tap.
