'Celebrity IOU' viewers say Scott brothers are only interested in photoshoots, call them 'biggest fakes on TV'

HGTV's 'Celebrity IOU' is back with yet another heartwarming episode where Grammy Award-winning Michael Buble collaborates with Drew and Jonathan Scott to gift his grandfather's caretaker, Minette, the house of her dreams.

Even though the reveal day is considered the special moment of every episode, the bit where celebrities tear up floors and break down walls make for an interesting watch as well. Michael was hesitant at first because he thought he didn't have what it takes to use a large hammer or pliers to destroy items around the house. But with a little bit of encouragement from the hosts-design experts, the artist was able to take the plunge and boy, was he surprised.

"I could smash things. Smashing things is fun," he said after he had kicked through multiple wooden kitchen cabinets that had to go. But before he got into the flow of things, he asked looking into the camera how many of the viewers had the slightest idea about construction. Once, he started painting the house and forgot about the walls.

It isn't hard to believe that Michael is inexperienced and that became evident from the way he handled a large set of pliers. He held it upside down and pointed it towards the body. Jonathan was quick to interrupt, saved him from an injury.

The house that's being renovated was built by the singer's grandfather. It was refreshing to see Michael spruce up a space that has so many memories, especially of his grandfather and him. It seems like a bold move. No one would do it unless they considered the other person to be part of the family.

By the end of the deadline, Minette was the owner of a revamped, modern space with an open layout that equal parts luxe and elegant. She was in tears and couldn't what unfolded in front of her eyes, mostly because she was told a documentary was being filmed at the house.

In a nutshell, the episode had everything going for itself. But there's a section of fans who didn't seem very impressed and said would rather watch 'Maine Cabin Masters' than 'Celebrity IOU.' HGTV posted a clip to May 4 episode on Facebook, captioning it as "10 bucks you won't want to miss tonight's #CelebIOU with Michael Bublé. 🙌 Tune in at 9|8c!." And, in response to that, a handful of fans said they'd rather be watching another show than 'Celebrity IOU.'

"I’ll take your $10. Watching Maine Cabin Masters on diy," a fan commented, to which another responded: "I'm with you much rather watch Maine Cabin Masters, they are also down to earth real workers not "jump ins" for a photo shoot!! And they are GOOD!!!"

"How soon will this show end? We have to suffer through two nights each week with the Scott Brothers. I guess I can avoid Monday nights like I do Wednesdays," another viewer shared. "I cannot stand the Property Brothers. Biggest fakes on TV. AND, it seems like they are on all of the time . Too much garbage on HGTV anymore. It seems like anyone can have a show on," a user posted.
