Candace Owens -- conservative commentator and a staunch supporter of President Donald Trump -- has time and again taken digs at Democrats. Her latest target was House of Representatives member Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who she called a “spoiled rotten brat”. Owens' criticism against the socialist Democrat came after she slammed Republicans for criticizing her for working as a waitress in the past. The conservative author, who also worked as a waitress in the initial days of her career, posted a tweet taking aim at Ocasio-Cortez that read, “I used to be a waitress and I worked multiple doubles. I am laughing out loud at how much of a coastal elitist you have to be to view that as the definition of a hard day at work. Please get on a plane and see the rest of the world (or country) you spoiled rotten brat.”

Owens went on to say, “And then he sent his French fries back THREE times! Republicans could NEVER handle that”. However, when an user questioned her by asking, “Wait, are you now putting down the hard working service people across this country? I’d love to see you work a year in their shoes. Unbelievable. Especially at a point in time when all their jobs are on the line. Eek.” She replied: “LMAO. I did work YEARS in their shoes. I waitressed since I was 17. I’m speaking from experience.  It’s long work, it’s tiring work, it’s respectable work— but it’s privileged work compared to what most others endure across this country and in the world.”

Several people reacted to the political activist’s Twitter spree. One user said, “I would rather not even appear to be defending AOC...but being waitstaff isn’t exactly a walk in the park and often they are treated like dirt. I know, I worked in the industry for an extended period of time. Yes people in other countries and in this country have “harder” jobs. Doesn’t change the reality of the job. Now if everyone could kindly show some respect to waiters/waitresses/bartender and so forth. Especially right now. Saying it’s a hard job doesn’t make me or anyone a spoiled brat. Shit I just defended AOC.”

Another one commented: “It’s amazing how women of color can put down each other in what they assume to be social discourse in an arena full of white people laughing AT THEM, and not WITH THEM. Completely embarrassing but not shocking when your dealing with dancing & singing negros.” “Owens here - What Candace is purposely ignoring (so she can attack another woman after calling people to defend her this week) is ....HER EXPERIENCE AS A WAITRESS ISNT THE ONLY EXPERIENCE. Respect others experiences. Simple but she has to fire up her base against AOC,” the third user added.

The Twitter rant from Owens was reportedly in response to Ocasio-Cortez’s own rant about the criticism she faced from some GOP members for working as a waitress. “Republicans like to make fun of the fact that I used to be a waitress, but we all know if they ever had to do a double they’d be the ones found crying in the walk-in fridge halfway through their first shift bc someone yelled at them for bringing seltzer when they wanted sparkling,” the progressive "Squad" member wrote on Twitter on December 4.

However, when Congressman Paul Mitchell tried to bring her down by saying, “This comment is ridiculous stereotyping.  I delivered newspapers year-round on foot or on my bike for several years. Worked numerous doubles in Respiratory Therapy where a mistake could result in death.  Worked nearly full time to pay for college.  What do I not understand?” Ocasio-Cortez responded: “My comments were directed at Republicans who mock my history in service work. That includes President Trump, who you’ve stood by and defended through such attacks, by the way. But if that boorishness doesn’t apply to you, then why feel the rush to defend yourself?”
