Canadian Air Traffic Control officials send pizzas to US counterparts impacted by government shutdown in sweet gesture

Around 350 pizzas have been sent out for at least 60 NATCA facilities from Los Angeles to New York by Sunday

The ongoing government shutdown in the US has affected around 800,000 public workers, and air traffic controllers are among the 450,000 employees who continue to work without pay.

On Friday, workers at the National Air Traffic Controllers Association (NATCA) were among those federal workers who found themselves without a paycheck in the wake of the government shutdown, and the mood among them would have been anything but cheery.

But in swooped employees of the Canadian Air Traffic Control Association (CATCA), who wanted to do something to cheer up their US counterparts. And they came up with a brilliant plan, one that involved everyone's favorite fast food: Pizza.
