Dr Sandra Lee takes on a fresh batch of critical patients in the second episode of 'Dr Pimple Popper' Season 8 on TLC on Wednesday, July 20, at 9 pm ET/PT. Dr Lee talks with Edith, a patient who received unexpected news regarding her itchy skin.

The series depicts the emotive, and often life-altering, stories of people who suffer from skin disorders. Lee meets these individuals in their hour of need and attempts to cure them through surgery. This is not a show for the faint of heart.

Dr Lee can see the scratches on Edith's hand because the marks are going in a specific direction on her arm. She can identify where Edith has scratched frequently in the past since the area is darker. The one on her wrist, on the other hand, is very recent and is driving her insane. Edith reveals that the itching has been going on for a month.

Dr Lee adds that she is definitely seeing some unusual results on Edith's wrist and hand folds that she believes have nothing to do with her seborrheic keratoses. Dr. Lee suspects a couple of things are going on around here when she notices white moving patches, which are generally an indication of a mite that lives on our skin. In a more common language, scabies. She describes it as a human-specific mite that can cause severe itching in humans. It's on Edith's wrist and between her fingers, as is common in humans. She won't know for sure until she scrapes it and examines the tissue under the microscope. This will allow her to view little mites, their eggs, and their feces under the microscope.

Dr Lee explains that when mites excrete, it causes a little reaction on the skin, making humans extremely itchy. She notices burrows on Edith that are caused by human-specific mites that dwell on our skin and are known as scabies. She advises viewers to check for them on the wrist, in the wrinkles of the fingers, around the belly button, and in the groin area. She explains that the little white and gray lines are the trails for the mites to crawl into the skin.

Interestingly, she continues, we itch not because of the minuscule mites that live on your skin, but because of the irritation caused by their feces. So she decides she must do two things with Edith. She must first scrape one of these burrows and examine it under a microscope to determine whether she can identify scabies. The second is to treat seborrheic keratoses. She intends to use liquid nitrogen to freeze off as many as Edith can tolerate because it is painful.

Find out if Dr Sandra Lee can relieve Edith's chronic itching in a new episode of 'Dr Pimple Popper' at 9 pm on July 20 on TLC.
