The last time we saw Cameron Diaz on the big screen was in her portrayal of Miss Hannigan in the 2014 remake of 'Annie'.

Since then, she had stepped away from the spotlight. Explaining the reason for turning away from the screen, she had said, "I started [experiencing fame] when I was 22, so 25 years ago — that's a long time."

"The way I look at it is that I've given more than half of my life to the public. I feel it's OK for me to take time for myself now to reorganize and choose how I want to come [back] into the world. If I decide to," she had added, concluding with an "I don't miss performing."

Now a married woman and a mother, the 47-year-old recently spoke with makeup artist Gucci Westman about her life, career, and most importantly, answered a burning question her fans have been asking for years — will she ever return to the silver screen?

"Obviously, everybody wants you to go back to acting," Westman told her. Without giving a direct answer and without completely dodging the question, the actress said, "Look, I'm never going to say 'never'. I'm not a person who says 'never' about anything, clearly."

The makeup star said, "You're so soothing and aspirational to watch," adding that the Diaz's comments are "encouraging" and that "people love watching" her onscreen. At the moment, however, it doesn't look like she is planning on making a comeback anytime soon since she is more focused on other projects.

"Right now, I'm looking at the landscape of wellness and all that," Diaz said. "But, whatever I do, it has to be something I’m passionate about — something that just feels effortless."

The supermodel made her debut opposite Jim Carrey in 'The Mask' at the age of 21. Diaz also admitted that she rather enjoyed her time away from the big screen and public eye.

"It's fun to just not have anybody know what I’m up to," she said. "Because my time is all mine. I'm not selling any films, and because I'm not selling anything, I don't have to give anybody anything. I'm not doing this anymore. I'm living my life."
