Courtney Williams: Killer mom arrested for drowning her 2 sons in bathtub while husband was out

Courtney Williams' husband and first responders to the scene tried to revive five-month-old Holden and two-and-a-half-year-old Ronin — but to no avail

YUBA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA: A mother was taken into custody after she allegedly took the lives of her two children. According to reports, Courtney Williams drowned both her kids – a baby and a toddler – in a bathtub while her husband was at work. The family reportedly lived in their ranch-style house in the Sacramento suburb of Linda, where the incident happened on Thursday, April 7. Police were called to the scene by Williams’ husband, whom she “allegedly told that she had hurt the children.”

It has been said that the kids’ father had came back home to have lunch when he got to know about the horrific murders. He also reportedly tried to revive his sons — five-month-old Holden and two-and-a-half-year-old Ronin — but to no avail. Authorities who responded to the scene also tried to save the boys, but they were declared dead.

In a statement, Yuba County Sheriff Wendell Anderson said: “The tragic loss of five-month-old Holden and his two-a-half-year old brother Ronin reverberates throughout our department and into the community. There are no words to adequately describe the sadness we feel for the family at this time.”

Neighbors of the family have expressed their shock over the tragedy. Charlene Smith, who saw the accused getting arrested, said: “She was just no expression whatsoever, no tears, no nothing.” Neighbor Heather Ronson while referring to Ronin stated: “He's just a little tiny guy. He's got brown hair and a bright red little face, and his little boots on and out here riding his little bike. 'Hi, Hi, Hi! Over the fence, you know. That's the picture.”

While neighbor Krista Taraha, whose son used to play with Ronin, added: “My son's probably going to ride his bike over there and sit by his yard every morning, yelling for him like he does everyday. Other neighbors suggested the woman should have asked for help if she was struggling with being a mother. A woman named Adrianna said, “How? Why? I could never imagine doing something like this to my kids. They’re my entire world. I feel like she should have reached out for help if she was struggling.” Ronson remarked: “I just wish she would have come out and asked for help. I would have helped her. I would have done anything to help her.”

Orko Manna, reporter at @kcranews, tweeted about the case, writing, “@YubaSheriff tells us Williams, ‘is expected to be booked for homicide but additional charges are possible; that will be in consultation with the district attorney.’” Several people have reacted to his tweets with one saying, “My heart goes out to the father and all the family. Sad beyond words. Rest In Peace sweet angels.” The second one tweeted, “Oh lord what insanity haunts a young mother to murder her own children?” “Damn! How heartbreaking for the father.  RIP little ones,” the third one shared.

Speculating about the why Courtney would kill her children, a person tweeted, “Postpartum depression,” while another user added: “That is what the lawyer will use  She will plea not guilty by reason of insanity.”
