Byrion Montgomery: Illinois boy, 17, arrested for murdering GF, her dad and 9-year-old girl in home invasion
BOLINGBROOK, ILLINOIS: Byrion Montgomery, 17, who was charged with multiple crimes, pleaded not guilty after appearing before a Will County judge in Joliet. He is accused of killing his 17-year-old girlfriend, a nine-year-old girl, and the child's father, and he is likely to face trial on the counts of first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, and home invasion. Currently, he’s under arrest with bail set at $20 million. As per the Will County State's Attorney's Office, the accused would be appointed a public defender in the case.
The shooting took place around 8.15 pm, Sunday, March 5, in Bolingbrook, about 30 miles west of Chicago. The alleged teen shooter was held about two hours after the reported incident. According to the complaint, the victims are identified as Samiya A Shelton-Tillman, 17, Cartez Daniels, 40, and Sanai Daniels, 9 and they were all pronounced dead at the scene. Tania Stewart, 34, was shot but survived, and was in stable condition till Tuesday, March 7, at a hospital. As per official documents, two boys ages three and 14 were in the house too during the home invasion but they were not harmed. Police confirmed that Shelton-Tillman and Montgomery dated, reports QTimes.

'My deepest condolences'
“The violence that occurred is something no one should ever have to endure or worry about,” said Bolingbrook Mayor Mary Alexander-Basta in a statement. “My deepest condolences go out to the family and friends of the victims, and my prayers are sent to the victim still in the hospital", said Alexander-Basta. Reed Silva, Cartez Daniels’ stepmother, told the Chicago Tribune that he was a carpenter, “He could do anything, mathematically. He loved his family. He loved everybody. He tried to do anything he could for anybody. He was making life better for him and his kids and his family.”
'Act of violence'
A district police spokesperson said in a statement, "We have reached out to the families involved to express our condolences and to offer our support as they experience this devastating loss. In addition, we have initiated the District Crisis Response Plan to support our school communities and families that have been greatly impacted by this senseless act of violence."
