Burger King mocks Trump's latest Twitter gaffe, says: 'We are all out of hamberders'

The popular fast food giant Burger King took a swipe at President Donald Trump over his latest Twitter blunder, where he misspelled 'hamburgers' as 'hamberders.'

The Republican, on Monday, had hosted Clemson Tigers, the college football team that won the National Championship, at the White House and had laid out a spread of varied fast food, including burgers and fries from McDonald's, Burger King and Wendy's and pizzas from Dominos.

Trump, after the event, on Tuesday had tweeted: "Great being with the National Champion Clemson Tigers last night at the White House. Because of the Shutdown I served them massive amounts of Fast Food (I paid), over 1000 hamberders etc. Within one hour, it was all gone. Great guys and big eaters!"

Shortly after the president misspelled hamburgers, the internet exploded with a barrage of memes over the typo, and Burger King also joined in and tweeted: "Due to a large order placed yesterday, we're all out of hamberders. Just serving hamburgers today."

The Republican, during the event, had announced that he had "1,000 hamburgers" delivered to the East Room, for which he personally paid. He also joked that he nearly fed the hungry football players the quick salads which the first lady generally prepared and later changed his mind thinking that the players would not prefer eating that.

"We ordered American fast food. Paid for by me. Lots of hamburgers, lots of pizza, I think they'd like it better than anything we could give," Trump told reporters at the White House. "We have some very large people that like eating, so I think we're gonna have a little fun," he said. Although social media users were amused by the turn of events, they, however, expressed their disdain that the president — a self-proclaimed billionaire — would serve fast food to the athletes instead.

Author Franklin Leonard, on Tuesday, tweeted: "Trump, a supposed billionaire, thinks buying out a McDonalds to celebrate world class athletes is high class stunting."

While other users took a dig at Trump's typo and likened it to his infamous "covfefe" tweet.

"When I was a kid, I hated when Mom made dinner with Hamberder Hempler," Bret Saunders wrote on Twitter.

One user tweeted a picture of coffee and a burger, and wrote: "Great start to the day. A hamberder and covfefe." While another user noted the distance between 'E' and 'U' on the keyboard, suggesting that the president went to great lengths to make that typo in his tweet.
