Spoilers for 'Bull' Season 5 Episode 1: 'My Corona'

'Bull' Season 5 garnered mixed opinions from fans soon after its premiere. The hit CBS legal drama finally returned after a lengthy hiatus as the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic put all the shoots and production on hold for months. Titled 'My Corona', the episode sees the return of Michael Weatherly's Dr Jason Bull and his TAC team as they take on a case that is just not winnable. As the episode progresses, it is revealed that Bull was indeed hallucinating and dreaming about the case.

It is understandable why the writers picked that route. The world has been impacted severely by the pandemic and the episode shows how could affect even the best of the best and take a toll on them — physically and mentally. Some fans though didn't really see it that way as they took to Twitter to express their disappointment. "#BullCBS that was a terrible episode. It was a 10-minute storyline and the rest was.....well BULL. Did you lose all your writers?" asked one of the fans after watching the season opener.

"@BullCBS that was a weird episode. Not gonna lie. #bull #bullcbs," read one of the tweets. This was seconded by another tweet that asked: "#BullCBS wasted my time tonight. who is in the writers room???"

"Probably the worst episode of #bullcbs ever," opined one of the fans.

But there were some thumbs-ups as well from some. "All characters so good, I liked how random each scene was, like my life since March. #bullcbs #mycorona," one of the fans wrote after the premier episode.

"Can you hear the delighted laughter and applause from our living room? Fantastic episode and ending! Great job everyone! @M_Weatherly #BullCBS" remarked another.

The episode also had a musical vibe to it as there were ample song sequences spread evenly throughout the episode. This does come as a novelty in 'Bull' as it usually a series with some quirk and comedy along with a solid case. That said, we surely can expect some cases to start coming in for Bull and the team to handle. Are musicals part of the show now? Only time will tell.

What are your thoughts on the 'Bull' Season 5 opener? 'Bull' Season 5 airs Mondays at 10 pm ET on CBS.
