BTS, everyone's (almost) favorite Korean boyband group has reportedly donated $1 million to the Black Lives Matter movement. A representative of the band's agency Big Hit Entertainment has confirmed that the band did not just voice their support for the movement on social media this week but has gone a step further to also donate for the movement.

According to a report in Variety, the donation by BTS and BigHit was transferred earlier this week and Black Lives Matter confirmed the receipt of the same to the agency early on Saturday, June 6. The news of the donation has left fans of the boy band further impressed by the Korean group that has taken over globally with their music and charisma. Also, this has also helped fans in slamming haters online who blamed BTS for staying silent over the week with just a message of support online.

One fan wrote, "BTS did not open their purse, they cracked open the whole bank. One million dollars, y'all. BTS donated one million dollars to help end police brutality." Another fan shared, "I bet the racist armys are FUMING finding out about one million."

Another fan also spoke about the hate that the band received on Weverse and said, "Tae was reading some of 'Armys' cursing him on Weverse while he had already donated one million dollars. Let’s think about that for a second." Another fan added their two cents about this as well and said, "They donated one million USD in silence days ago because they don't flex about stuff like that and people were calling them out for not speaking up lol."

Fans have also been sharing how big the amount is in Korean currency and have also spoken about a South Korean band gave $1 million while American artistes have been sharing black squares as a show of support. A fan tweeted, "ONE MILLION USD = 1,203,184,694 WON." Another wrote, "one million dollars 'earlier this week' which probably means they were already donating even before they spoke anything while American rich ppl were posting black squares thinking it was enough."

The phrase "One Million" has gone viral since the news went viral with over 90 thousand tweets. It must also be noted that this donation is just one of BTS' many donations to different organizations that were made last week according to local South Korean media outlets.

BTS is also expected to make an appearance at the 'Dear Class of 2020' event hosted by YouTube Originals in partnership with former First Lady Michelle Obama's Reach Higher initiative which she had started when she was in White House.
