Arrowverse fan theory suggests the Monitor recruited Bruce Wayne even before Oliver Green to prepare for 'Crisis on Infinite Earths'
'Arrow' Season 8 sees Oliver Queen hopping around the Multiverse, completing tasks assigned to him by the Monitor.
The reasons behind these tasks are something that fans of the show can only guess at, but some fans have speculated that Oliver Queen isn't the only person that the Monitor has recruited for his mysterious ends leading up to the 'Crisis on Infinite Earths'.
Bruce Wayne is a character who has been hinted at for years in the Arrowverse without ever making an actual appearance, across both Earth-1 and Earth-38.
He is most directly referred to on Earth-1 on 'Batwoman', where it's revealed that the Bruce Wayne of that Earth has been missing for years.
One reddit theory believes that the Monitor may have recruited Bruce Wayne before he recruited Oliver Queen. It makes a certain amount of sense since it is never revealed why the Bruce Wayne of Earth-1 abandoned Gotham.
The abandonment of the city seems very out of character for Bruce, who has consistently been portrayed as fiercely loyal to the city of Gotham. Trying to prevent a multiversal collapse, however, would be a sufficient motive for him to leave his beloved city behind.
'Batwoman' isn’t the only place Batman has been hinted at in recent weeks — episode one of 'Arrow' season eight featured a Batman mask mounted on a stick on Earth-2, a homage to the first appearance of Deathstroke's mask on the very first episode of 'Arrow' back in season one.
It has been theorized that Bruce Wayne has already spent a fair amount of time hopping Earths. If he was plucked out of both time and space, it’s entirely possible that he encountered Oliver Queen on Earth 2, spending time on the island training him for the Crisis that is to come.
It would also go a long way towards explaining Bruce Wayne's older appearance in the upcoming 'Crisis', where he is confirmed to appear played by longtime Batman voice actor, Kevin Conroy.
'Crisis on Infinite Earths' premieres on December 8 with 'Supergirl' on The CW.
