One surviving victim was rushed to Kings County Hospital for treatment, while the other two were taken to Brookdale Medical Center for treatment. The NYPD units had conflicting reports on the number of people injured in the shooting. One of the reports put the number of casualties to nine, New York Daily News reported.

Of the three survivors, one male was shot in the arm while another male survivor and a female were both shot in the leg, police said. There were 15 people inside the club when the shooting took place. two guns were recovered from the scene.

A Citizen user's video also shows a man in handcuffs being escorted from the crime scene, while a witness at the scene said that a woman was arrested at the scene. "They must have gotten away in the car that ran that light," one witness was heard saying in the video.

The victims were all between the ages of 32 and 49. Two of the seven victims were from outside of New York City and the rest from Brooklyn.

There was evidence of gambling, with cards and dice inside the club, Chief of Detectives Dermot F. Shea said. Although location at 74 Utica Ave is listed as permanently closed on Google, investigators suspected that it was being used for unlicensed gambling. Cops were questioning multiple people after discovering cards and other evidence of gambling in the unlicensed venue. No liquor was found

Fifteen gunshots were fired at the venue that described as being "chaos."

The investigation is still in its preliminary phase and the detectives are currently questioning multiple witnesses to piece together the events that transpired at the club, the Washington Post reported.

According to a sign above the door of the nightclub where the events took place, Triple A Aces described itself as a “private and social rental space” for “food, fun and entertainment." However, the block where the shots rang out has empty storefronts and boarded-up buildings as well as renovated townhouses.

No arrests have been made, and police do not know the motive for the shootings, Shea said. He said two guns were found at the scene and more could potentially be found.

Mayor Bill de Blasio said on Twitter that the city “awoke to senseless gun violence.” The Democrat added, “I’ve said it before and I’ll say it until I can’t anymore: we have an epidemic of gun violence that spares no community — and it won’t stop until we get guns off our streets once and for all.”
