'Then it stopped': Brooke Shields upset after Tom Cruise stopped sending her his iconic $126 gift
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: For the next holiday season, Brooke Shields wants to make Tom Cruise's good list once again. The actress admitted that she once received Cruise's famous coconut Christmas cake in her People cover story interview. The 57-year-old Manhattan resident told People on April 4 that she "was on the list for a while" before the cakes apparently stopped coming.
It is rumored that Cruise used to send his famous acquaintances an annual $126 bundt cake from Woodland Hills, Doan's Bakery. According to the actress and model, she 'was very happy' to receive the dessert every Christmas season. Before Cruise and Holmes split in 2012, the cake used to be a gift from Cruise, his then-wife Katie Holmes, and their daughter Suri, as per Shields.

Tom Cruise's famous Christmas confection
The 'Pretty Baby' star told the publication: The cake "was from them and Suri, so it was the three of them, and then soon it was no Suri and no Katie and just Tom. Then it went from just Tom for a while, but not every holiday. And then the cake stopped."
Shields was brought up in Cruise's 2005 interview on the 'Today Show', where he discussed his opposition to her use of medications as she struggled with postpartum depression after giving birth to her son Rowan.
What happened between Brooke Shields and Tom Cruise?
Shields once faced criticism from Cruise in 2005 for using an antidepressant to treat postpartum depression following the birth of her first child, Rowan, who is now 19 years old. Shields responded to the criticism by publishing an op-ed in the New York Times. The two continued their friendship despite their public dispute.
Regarding Shields' alleged usage of antidepressants, Cruise remarked in the controversial interview with Matt Lauer, former Today Show host, "The thing that I'm saying about Brooke is that there's misinformation. She doesn't understand the history of psychiatry ... she doesn't know what these drugs are, and for her to promote it is irresponsible."
Shields stated, "I want to get back on that cake list," adding that she has no idea "what happened" that caused Cruise to stop delivering the $126 bundt cakes. "It's the best cake - Tom, I need to be back on the cake list," exclaimed the 'Sahara' actor.
Hulu documentary 'Pretty Baby: Brooke Shields'
The actress has recently been promoting her new Hulu documentary, 'Pretty Baby: Brooke Shields.' She made waves when it was revealed in the documentary that she fled the room "butt naked" after losing her virginity to 'Superman' actor Dean Cain when she was only 22.
In the two-part film, which aired on April 3, Shields addressed her troubled relationship with her mom, who watched as she was made to kiss Keith Carradine, who was 27 at the time, seductively in the 1978 movie 'Pretty Baby,' wherein she portrayed a prostitute at the age of only 11.
In the documentary, Shields explores her complicated life, which included modeling while still a young girl and experiencing public sexualization throughout her adolescence.
