Who is Brittany Kennedy?

The sheriff’s office posted a “wanted” poster of 25-year-old Kennedy on social media, a day after a witness put video footage of the fight on Twitter. On Tuesday, May 25, police arrested Kennedy in Augusta, Georgia. The fight purportedly started at a home and continued at the Little Caesars, according to the police.

Video of the attack showed Kennedy yanking Broadwater by her hair and continuously beating her. Broadwater screamed for help as Kennedy continued to assault her. A toddler then grabbed at Broadwater, whom Kennedy dragged out of the pizza shop by her hair. Finally, the video showed a bloodied Broadwater outside the restaurant. Kennedy then reportedly walked away and drove off in a Kia car, as per law enforcement authorities.

Broadwater reportedly sustained multiple cuts, bruises, and a black eye in the attack, but refused to be taken to a hospital, instead getting treated at the scene, according to a police report. Prior to deputies arriving, two Little Caesars employees came to Broadwater’s aid.

“The safety of our crew members and customers is the most important thing to us,” a Little Caesars spokeswoman said in a statement, two days after the attack. “In any case where a customer or employee is in danger, we advise our crew members to call the police immediately.”

No motive for the assault has been publicly released as of yet. Sergeant William McCarty of the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, however, told reporters earlier that Broadwater and Kennedy’s fight was caused by the victim’s contact with the father of the suspect’s children. “That seems to be the foundation of the disputes between Broadwater and Kennedy,” McCarty said, adding that the pair had previous confrontations “for some time” that had not led to any prior charges.

The Daily Mail reported that Broadwater has since the attack claimed on social media that she had previously watched Kennedy's children while she was in jail for another offense. It has not yet been reported what Kennedy was jailed for. “All I did was help a friend out with his kids while his baby mama was locked up. She has been harassing me for weeks now,” Broadwater said. “All I'm saying is that I never caused any harm to her or her property or her children like she had mine. Now imma go back to living my life and taking care of my daughter.”
