The bitter rivalry between the '90s pop icons Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera is not hidden. The two stars have had a rollercoaster ride all these years but it now looks like things might take a new turn after the ‘Toxic’ hitmaker called out Aguilera on her Instagram account for refusing to speak on her conservatorship ending after 13 years.

Christina Aguilera was spotted at the red carpet of Latin Grammy Awards held on Thursday, November 18, where she was asked by a journalist if she and Britney had any communication or if they were going to celebrate referring to the latter’s conservatorship ending. Christina Aguilera, who seemed in no mood to discuss Britney, replied, “No, we’re not doing that tonight, I’m sorry” while frowning on the question as her publicist interrupted. Aguilera before leaving the sticky situation concluded that she was happy for Britney Spears. Apart from calling out her former rival, Britney again took to her Instagram stories and shared a clip of Lady Gaga openly discussing the singer’s conservatorship win.

Britney Spears shades Christina Aguilera on Instagram

Britney Spears, who enjoys more than 35 million followers on Instagram, shared the short clip of Christina Aguilera’s interview on Friday, November 19, and called her out openly saying she love and adore her but refusing to speak was equivalent to a lie!!!!. “I love and adore everyone who supported me but refusing to speak when you know the truth, is equivalent to a lie!!!!”, said the 39-year-old crooner. She continued, “13 years being in a corrupt abusive system yet why is it such a hard topic for people to talk about??? I’m the one who went through it!!!! All the supporters who spoke up and supported me, thank you… yes I do matter!!!!!”

The award-winning songstress then took another indirect dig at Aguilera by sharing a clip of Lady Gaga discussing her conservatorship ending at a red-carpet event. Britney thanked Gaga on her Instagram stories saying, “Thank You Lady Gaga for genuinely taking out time to say something so kind. You made me cry. I love you.”  For the unversed, Christina Aguilera had shared a lengthy thread on Twitter back in June shedding light on Britney’s conservatorship. “These past few days I’ve been thinking about Britney and everything she is going through. It is unacceptable that any woman, or human, wanting to be in control of their own destiny might not be allowed to live life as they wish.” She added, “To be silenced, ignored, bullied or denied support by those “close” to you is the most depleting, devastating and demeaning thing imaginable. The harmful mental and emotional damage this can take on a human spirit is nothing to be taken lightly.”
 

‘Glad Britney came for Christina Aguilera’s a**’

Social media users were quick to react to Britney calling out Christina Aguilera on Instagram. A majority of them slammed the latter for not addressing and walking away from the scene. “I’m glad Britney came for Christina Aguilera’s a**. I know Britney’s drama is none of her business but she could have gotten out of that question without sounding like a bi**h.” Another posted, “Britney Spears has every right to be frustrated. people only speak up on her situation when it benefits them cause wtf did that man mean "no we're not doing this right now" Christina Aguilera knows how this industry works.”
 
The next one shared, “Britney ending Christina has the TL as chaotic as the night Trump announced he had Covid.” One user tweeted, “Love xtina but seriously disappointed with how she handled the situation. Britney is right in calling her out.” Meanwhile, another said, “Xtina always been bitter and jealous with Britneys success and impact. She a Britney wanna be remember? Jealousy is a decease.” And, one posted, “Britney was still in the conservatorship having all her communications monitored and totally isolated when Christina spoke out in support, I’m sure she didn’t see her kind words. Please don’t let this start a stan war.” One user asserted, “Britney vs Christina is the white woman version of the biggie vs 2pac beef.” And, another concluded, “I love xtina.. but she was wrong she just could have said the same without walking away.”
