Frank Lampard and his Blues will be itching to take the field as they start off their 2020 Premier League campaign against Brighton. They're loaded with big names in Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner, Kai Havertz, Thiago Silva, Ben Chilwell, and Malang Sarr this season. Brighton finished 15th in the 2019-20 season and come in as the underdogs. Will it be a brilliant start for Chelsea or can Brighton pull off an upset win? Here's everything you need to know ahead of the clash.

Time

The match is slated to start off at 3:15 pm ET on Monday, September 14, 2020.

Venue

Chelsea will travel to The American Express Community Stadium, East Sussex to take on Brighton.

Where to watch and how to live stream?

The opener can be watched live on Peacock. The Premier League matches can be live-streamed on NBC's new streaming service, Peacock, and NBCSports.com. Peacock will showcase 175 live matches throughout the season. In addition, it will also have full-game replays available on-demand for all slated 380 matches of the 2020-21 season. These replays will be available after 9 pm ET the day of the match, according to Cnet. Fans can even watch the game on fuboTV.

Pre-match buzz

While Chelsea surely maintains a healthy record against Brighton, they have some fitness concerns coming into this encounter. Their new additions, midfielder Ziyech, and defender Chilwell are ruled out of the game, while Silva is yet to start training. Chelsea will look to start with a win and after their fourth-place finish last season, will look at making amends and get wins out of games they're favored to take. Brighton comes in with some issues as well.

Dutch midfielder Davy Propper is struggling with an Achilles problem and the team will be sweating over his injury. A game against the big boys could mean one thing — lose or eke out a tie that could make a difference to Chelsea should their campaign struggle over the course of the season. While a win might not be what most would peg, a draw is certainly a possibility if Brighton keeps things disciplined.

Who will win?

Potentially this is a game that could see a flurry of goals for Chelsea or they get tied up and kept quiet by Brighton. The former is the most possible option and the Blues are favorites to clinch a win here.
