Relationships are a constant work in progress. It requires the people in it to share their concerns, have fun and be open. But it's easier said than done. Lifetime's new reality show's premise is based on couples who are facing (seemingly) irreconcilable challenges and depend on a relationship expert to help them navigate through their emotional uncertainties and find a way to push through. Couples on Lifetime's 'Bride and Prejudice: Forbidden Love' will do all this and more while trying to navigate their path to the altar.

Release date

'Bride and Prejudice: Forbidden Love' premieres on Lifetime on February 26, 10/9 ET/ PT.

Plot

Multi-racial couples and people of different faiths and ages coming together is a tough subject to deal with on television. Let's hope Lifetime does it appropriately with Pastor Calvin Roberson as the relationship expert on board. It's a four-week-long social experiment that will focus on three Atlanta based couples and their struggles that mainly have to do with their family disapproving of their relationship. By the end of it, each couple will have to take a call on whether or not they want to go the whole hog and get hitched.

Cast

Willi and Cameron

Willi is Jewish, Cameron is a Christian. Willi's family wants Cameron to convert before the couple exchange vows but that may stand in the way of love. In the trailer, Willi's dad throws an ultimatum, which may not be taken very kindly by the would-be-groom. "I want my grandchildren to be raised Jewish. If not, then hit the pavement," he said. And to add to that, Willi too seems keen on Cameron converting.

Blair and Chris

Chris will have to work with Blair's mother to get her to like his rough, bad boy image with all the tattoos. Not just that, he'll have to help her get over the fact that people with a North Korean heritage can be fairly good people. But, will he go that extra mile just so he and Blair can begin their happily ever after? Time will tell.

Kiandria and Kareem

Kiandra is mother to a 6-year-old and her family fears that maybe Kareem doesn't have the maturity to handle such a huge responsibility especially because he is much younger than her.

Pastor Cal, who is actively helping couples on 'Married At First Sight,' shared on Instagram how watching the show will benefit people who are struggling with relationships with regards to family's approval. "Whether you’re trying to reroute or resolve conflict, the advice to these couples is pretty solid and transcending... it deals with the core of who we are as individuals, so tune in," he added in his post.
