CNN's chief media correspondent Brian Stelter has been slammed after he didn't take a stand while sharing a video of President Joe Biden calling Fox News’ Peter Doocy a “stupid son of a b***h”.

In the video, Doocy said, “Do you think inflation is a political liability in the midterms?” To this, Biden sarcastically responded “no, it’s a great asset, more inflation. What a stupid son of a b***h.”

After sharing the video without comment, Stelter found himself facing backlash when Twitter users dug up his post from March 2018 in which he openly denounced Donald Trump’s usage of the term ‘son of a b***h’ while referring to Chuck Todd. The tweet was made in reference to Donald Trump’s comment at a rally in Pennsylvania in which he said “Meet the press moderator Chuck Todd — a sleeping son of a b***h”.

Stelter had said “Calling a journalist a ‘son of a bitch?' It was wrong when Trump was just a candidate, and it’s even worse now that he’s POTUS…”

To this, author and journalist Glen Greenwald replied “Thank you Brian Stelter, for showing solidarity for your fellow journalist and demonstrating you uphold your principles regardless of parties— oh, wait, this is from 2018”. Jerry Dunleavy added “Stelter apparently thinks Trump calling a journalist a son of a bitch exposed reporters to “threats and intimidation” but Biden doing it should just be dismissed as a mere “blip.”"
