A Russian student killed his chemistry professor before dismembering his body and dumping the body parts into containers of perchloric acid and hydrochloric acid. Local police revealed that the incident happened earlier this year when Dmitry Bykovsky along with his alleged accomplice IT specialist Alexander Kharlamov went to Professor Vladislav Kuznetsov’s house to rob him. It has also been said that the postgraduate student was inspired by the hit TV series ‘Breaking Bad’ to carry out the murder.

Police arrested Bykovsky and his alleged 30-year-old accomplice, and it was found that both the suspects raided the 58-year-old’s teacher bank accounts after using chloroform soaked cloth to make him fall unconscious. They allegedly stole a sum equivalent to almost $2,12,52 (£17,000) from Kuznetsov’s house in Voronezh, The Daily Mail reported.

According to reports, when the suspects realized that the teacher was not breathing, they took him to a flat rented by Kharlamov. They dismembered Kuznetsov’s body there before stocking the body parts in the acid containers. They allegedly kept the containers filled with the professor’s body parts for three months. Police said that Kuznetsov went missing on March 5. He was reportedly close to Bykovsky and when the student went to his house with Kharlamov, he opened the door for them.

The alleged crime unfolded after Kharlamov confessed, according to the detectives. “I committed evil, so must be punished. I actually thought for a long time about everything that happened. We should not have done that. It was very hard. I really wanted to give my child the best after my divorce. But somehow, sorry, but it turned out this way,” Kharlamov told journalists in a court custody hearing.

While Bykovsky has chosen to keep silent. He also did not speak about the claims that he saw himself as Walter White of ‘Breaking Bad’, played by Bryan Cranston, but said that the state investigator has the relevant evidence. Bykovsky has reportedly used White’s picture as his user picture on a social media account.

‘Breaking Bad’ is a five-season series available on Netflix that shows the journey of White, a high school chemistry teacher who embarked on a life of crime. He along with his student Jesse Pinkman and other characters uses acid to dispose of dead bodies.

In another incident, a Florida student allegedly tried to hire a hitman to kill a staff member at his school. The 18-year-old Nicholas Godfrey, a student at Fivay High School in Hudson, was arrested and charged with first-degree attempt to solicit murder. Pasco County Sheriff's deputies said they have messages Godfrey wrote on Instagram to find a professional killer. "I need a guy who could kill someone," Godfrey allegedly wrote in one of the messages, offering $100,000 "for the guy's head." "No joke, I need him eliminated as soon as possible," he had reportedly said. Pasco County Sheriff, Chris Nocco, said that even though the teenage student had no real intentions of killing the staff member, the threat itself was a serious crime.

"As the victim and their family, imagine getting that notification form the sheriff's office, 'Hey we need to protect you,'" Nocco explained. “This individual may have thought it was funny, maybe thought they were committing a joke. This is not a joke."
