Football legend Ronaldinho set to marry not one, but two women at once
Brazilian football legend Ronaldinho is set to marry two women at the same time, according to several sources.
The ace striker is reportedly scheduled to marry his two "fiancees" Beatriz Souza and Priscilla Coelho in August, according to The Sun.
The former ace has been living "harmoniously" with the two women at his $6,700,000 mansion in Rio de Janeiro since December.
Ronaldinho, whose full name is Ronaldo de Assis Moreira, allegedly started dating Beatriz in 2016 when he was already in a relationship with Priscilla for several years. He is known for being "adept at polygamy."
The legend reportedly gives both his women an "allowance" of $2,000 a month to splurge on whatever they like.
Plus, many have claimed that he gives both of them the exact same presents. During a recent trip abroad together, the footballer bought them matching perfume.
According to Brazilian columnist Leo Dias, Ronaldinho popped the question of marriage to both back in January last year and gifted them engagement rings.
The former World Player of the Year would marry them in a private function inside the Santa Monica condominium, where he has lived since 2015. The house is located in the coveted Barra da Tijuca district in Rio de Janeiro, according to Brazil’s O Dia newspaper.
Dias also claimed that Deisi, the footballer's sister who has been vocal against his polygamy for the longest time, has said she won't be attending the ceremony.
The wedding music for the nuptials will be composed by Brazilian singer Jorge Vercillo. Being a neighbor to Ronaldinho, he is one of the scores of celebrities who will be attending the wedding.
In Brazil, bigamy is illegal and punishable by law. Offenders can face up to six years in prison. That being said, it is quite likely that the rumored "wedding" would simply constitute a traditional ceremony with two women and would not be registered as two marriages on paper.
When the rumors of the engagement first emerged last year, Ronaldinho immediately denied them on social media.
"Do not believe in any news, the day I get engaged, I will tell you," the footballer wrote on Twitter.
Ronaldinho's two lovers are are both from the city of Belo Horizonte, where the footballer played with Atletico Mineiro. He led the club to win its first Copa Libertadores title in 2012.
While the star has never confirmed his relationship with Beatriz and Priscilla publicly, many close friends of his reported that he travels with both of them to nearly every event he is a part of.
The ambassador for the Spanish club Barcelona posted photos and a video of himself with both his lovers to his Instagram in March this year, which boasts a whopping 32 million followers. He was on a trip to Japan with his samba music band.
The trio went to the Brazilian capital Brasilia a week later. The footballer is believed to be considering a career in politics following the footsteps of fellow footballer Romario. He recently joined the center-right party called the Brazilian Republican Party (PRB).
Coincidentally, the political organization's electoral number is 10 - the number Ronaldinho donned in his Barcelona jersey.
However, according to reports, inside sources from the party have voiced their concerns in private about the football legend's unorthodox lifestyle choices, that could possibly harm his chances at the ballot box.
Last year, Priscilla's family members were allegedly planning on confronting Ronaldinho after rumors surfaced that she was one of his two girlfriends.
A family friend told Brazil's Extra newspaper: "They are upset because they discovered that every present he gives to Priscilla, he also gives to the other girl."
The source further added, claiming her family is concerned about her reputation in public: "She is almost being fired from her job because of this."
