What happened to Brandon Gibbs' father Ron? '90 Day Fiance' star opens up about cancer diagnosis
Back on Season 8 of '90 Day Fiance', fans didn't know what to make of Brandon Gibbs and Julia Trubkina's relationship. Their home lives were vastly different, which was something Julia came to realize when she moved to the USA and had to live with Brandon's parents, Ron and Betty, on their farm. While she struggled to adjust to farm life, it didn't help that she had a rocky relationship with her inlaws as well.
From their wedding date to living with his parents, the couple fought over the smallest of things, making it seem like their marriage was doomed from the beginning. However, they soon managed to work past their differences and came out the season happily married. As it turns out, their relationship with Ron and Betty improved as well. Unfortunately, the Gibbs family did face a massive setback regarding Ron's health, which had fans concerned.

In an Instagram post featuring Brandon and Ron, the duo spoke about Ron's health, opening up about the fact that he was diagnosed with cancer. As Ron explained it, he went in for a colonoscopy check when they found a tumor which was cancer. But the "good news" was that they caught it early on and he was able to have it surgically removed. He added that he did go through thirty days of chemo and radiation, to ensure that they got rid of cancer entirely. He also said that he continues to do regular checkups.
Seeing that they posted the video on World Cancer Day, both Brandon and Ron encouraged fans to be regular when it comes to check-ups and their health, with Brandon saying "f--k cancer" at the end of the video, as they shared a light-hearted moment. Fans were glad to hear that Ron was well and healthy. "That's great news!! I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Stay blessed. Hi Ms. Betty," wrote a fan on the post. "Awwww I am so very happy to hear all is well...this makes me so so grateful for life..god bless and love all of yas 💜" added another. "It’s good to keep those things private sometimes. Your family needed that privacy at the time. Im so glad to hear your Dad is doing better & they caught it early. Thank God ! F CANCER," added another.
The Gibbs family has since been as active as ever on social media, with Julia, Brandon, Ron and Betty all partaking in fun videos and reels.
