Somethings are left best unsaid. Take for instance former ‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ star Brandi Glanville weighing in on the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The reality star took to Twitter on Thursday, April 16, evening to post a conspiracy theory which her son told her about and she felt made sense.

According to Brandi’s 16-year-old son, the COVID-19 virus was created by the Chinese to tackle the overpopulation in the country. But apparently things “got out of hand” which explains the ongoing pandemic situation. The reality star tweeted, “My 16 yr old said a long time ago China created this COVID-19 virus to take out some of their population because they are overpopulated I think he might be right and then it just got out of hand & they couldn’t control it.”

As soon as Brandi posted the tweet, she was slammed by several of her followers. Many of her followers took the opportunity to educate the former housewife about the measures China already has in place to address the overpopulation issue and called her out for spreading such ill-informed messages to her fans. A fan tweeted, “Some things are better off not said. This is one of them, sis.  I truly can’t believe you typed this out and still tweeted it.”

Another fan wrote, "Yeah, those 3,342 Chinese deaths really helped with the population."

“Some people just shouldn't reproduce. As it turns out, you're one of them. Be better,” expressed a fan.

Many fans pointed out the one-child policy in China, which has been relaxed in recent years. “I have to laugh since China actually instituted a population limit (one-child policy) from 1980 and then relaxed it in 2013. Might wanna crack open a book sometime, Brandi! Then make sure to show it to your 16-year-old,” commented a fan.

Another person suggested, “B, read up on actual history of how viruses & epidemics/pandemics come to be and don’t spread ignorant conspiracy theories. They did that for nearly 20 yrs w/ HIV/AIDS & it was not only unproductive but dangerous and damaging to so many - pls use your platform responsibility.”

“This is really a stupid theory and not helpful to perpetuate. If you know anything about China - they limited their populations for decades before rescinding that,” wrote a fan.
