DETROIT, MICHIGAN: A six-year-old boy and his father’s girlfriend were found murdered inside the family's home near Detroit, Michigan, on Thursday morning, October 1. Tai’raz Moore and the 28-year-old unnamed women were dragged into the basement and then shot execution-style, The Sun reported. The horrific discovery was made by the local police after they arrived at the home to inform them about another tragic incident in which the child’s father was found dead inside a burning car on Detroit’s east side.

The body of the father, whose name has not been revealed, was discovered nearly 11 miles away from the home, police said. It has been said that the Detroit and Warren police are taking help from the FBI to solve the case. They also believe that more than one person was involved in the crime. Warren Police Commissioner Bill Dwyer said, “The execution-style killing of a 6-year-old boy is truly evil, unthinkable and senseless, and shows no regard for life. Only monsters or God-less creatures would pull the trigger on a 6-year-old and execute a child.” While in an interview with WDIV-TV, Moore’s mother, Brittany Thompson, got emotional while describing the "cruel" way her son was murdered. She also apologized to her only child for not being present at the time of the incident to save him.

At a press conference on Friday, October 2, Dwyer said the alleged killer/killers could face the death penalty. "When you murder a 6-year-old innocent baby, the person or persons responsible deserve the death penalty," he added. But Dwyer did not directly express that the police department and federal authorities would be pressing for the death sentence for the culprit.

Meanwhile, Maurie Thompson, Moore’s grandma has started a GoFundMe page to raise funds for her grandchild’s funeral. The message on the page that has raised $26,680 raised of $10,000 goal read: “My name is Maurie I am the grandmother of 6 year old Tai'raz Moore he was a victim of a triple homicide that took place on the morning of October 1, 2020 in Warren, Michigan. Please assist our family with burial expenses. Tai'raz was a vibrant little boy who loved to tease and laugh, he will be dearly missed our hearts are broken and souls empty without him.”

The page added, “Your outpouring of love, kindness and generosity has truly amazed our family, we had no idea so many loving individuals would come forth. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your generosity and encouraging words. I will keep you all posted on funeral and memorial arrangements, we are still in the process of working with the medical examiner. It is my goal to start a foundation for battered women and children who have suffered abuse and/or violence in honor of Tai'raz even though he was just 6 years old he was a protective and loving little boy and was always concerned about the well being of others especially his younger siblings, cousins and relatives.”
