Adrien Broner says it was an 'honest mistake' after sliding into underaged rapper Bhad Bhabie's DM
Boxer Adrien Broner, 30, found himself in a sticky situation after 16-year-old American rapper Danielle "Bhad Bhabie" Bregoli called him out for sliding into her DM. She had shared a now-deleted Instagram story, which featured a screenshot of the message that Adrien sent him: "text me crazy girl."
This obviously triggered fierce responses, following which the sports star offered an explanation adding that it was an honest mistake.
Speaking with The Shade Room, Adrien said Instagram doesn't show user's age, which was why he didn't think Danielle could be underage. "Nobody want to date a kid but I fault Instagram for not having people’s age on they profile,” Broner told the site. “I thought she was grown the way she out here moving," he added.
This has fuelled mixed responses online. There's a clear divide in opinions. While a section sided with Adrien saying it's difficult to figure the age because people don't look their age these days, another group pointed out that her bio mentions her age, questioning how could he have missed that important information.
"her age in her bio like come on man," a user wrote on the post shared on the site's Instagram handle. While another commented: "These young girls need to stop acting and looking grown b4 their time. Adulthood ain’t going nowhere‼️ Trust me‼️ It’s waiting to slap tf outta ya. Stay a child as long as you can."
Whatever the case may be, Bhad Bhabie is slowly turning out to be controversy's favorite child. Recently, the internet was buzzing with rumors of the artiste going under the knife. She has been looking different lately and in her defense, that's puberty talking. She even shared a lengthy post on Instagram about how the change in her appearance is nothing but a direct result of her growing up.
