Boulder shooting: Chilling video shows bodies lying on ground as gunshots heard from inside King Soopers
A new video of the Boulder shooting in Colorado shows body lying on the ground as gunshots can be heard nearby. The mass shooting at King Soopers grocery store killed ten people including a police officer. Bystander Dean Schiller, who recorded the video, started shooting with his camera from the store's parking lot, where two people are seen on the ground. The video also captured scenes from inside the store.
At one point, Schiller is heard shouting, “Look, there’s people lying in the f— street, guys! We need 911 here now! … We’ve got injured parties on the ground!"

The video, shared with New York Post, then shows the grocery store and we hear gun shots and later a body is seen lying motionless.
Schiller is heard yelling, "I heard gunshots! They were very close! Someone is down right here!” He also asks other bystanders, "Can you see which way the shooter went?” A few moments later, we see a man tell Schiller that the shooter went inside the store.
Hours after the shooting, police confirmed that a suspect had been taken into custody and was treated for unconfirmed wounds. The suspect detained by the cops was seen in a video taken by another person. In a conference held hours after the shooting, Boulder Police Chief Maris Herold confirmed that the shooting took place at 2:30 pm in the area near the supermarket, which is located in a suburban stretch of the city. The suspect was later identified as Ahmad Alissa, a 21-year-old man from Arvada in Colorado. He has been charged with 10 counts of first-degree murder, Herold said at a press conference on Tuesday.
Eric Talley, a 51-year-old police officer who had responded to the situation, was killed by the gunman. Chief Herold fought back tears as he confirmed Talley's death and described the cop as "heroic" in how he responded to the shooting. A live video of the shooting was also uploaded on YouTube, but that was different to the one shared by Schiller.
That video captured the suspect being detained by the cops. A shirtless man was escorted out of the store by the cops and blood was seen streaming down his leg.
The details about the victims who lost their lives have not been released and Boulder County District Attorney Michael Dougherty said that the next of kin were still being informed. The only name that was released was of the cop who lost his life in line of duty. Vowing to prosecute the perpetrator, Dougherty said, "These were people going about their day doing their food shopping and their lives were cut abruptly and tragically short by the shooter."
So far, no news of the shooter's motivation has been revealed. In fact a witnes was quoted by Denver Post as saying, "He didn’t say s**t," and added about the gunman "He just came in and started shooting.”
